How To Get an Amazon Text Link

This post is either really going to excite you or really bore you. If you are an Amazon Affiliate you will be excited to see how to create a text link for any Amazon product you'd like.
This was something that had me baffled until I really researched it one day and so to save you the trouble, here's how to do it:
You can use the following URL to create a simple text link to Amazon.com or to link an image to Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/ASIN/?tag=YourAssociatesId
Replace ASIN with the ASIN of the product and YourAssociatesId with your Associates ID or Tracking ID.
The ASIN is a unique identifier Amazon uses for each product.
The easiest way to get the ASIN number is to click on the product that you want to link to. Then copy its URL that displays in your browser and paste it into Notepad or another text editor.
Here's the link for a product I selected for this example. If you copy and paste the URL below into your browser, you'll see the product I'm creating the link for.

To create a text link using the URL illustrated above, use it in a HTML "a href" tag like:

Replace "Text to Display" with the text you wish to display as a hyperlink.
To create a hyperlink from an image using the simple URL illustrated above, use HTML like:
<a href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/ASIN/?tag=YourAssociatesId"><img src="http://yourdomain.com/image.jpg" border=0></a>
Replace http://yourdomain.com/image.jpg with the URL to the image you wish to hyperlink.
To have either of the above links open a new window, add a target parameter to the "a" tag like this:

Finally. to verify that your link is correctly tagging your AffiliateID (the same as AssociatesID) visit

and paste your text link into the text box on that page.
Click "Check Link" and if everything is correct, this message will display:
Success: The link tags to a valid tag or sub-tag for your Associate ID.
For most books, the ten-digit ISBN (ISBN-10) is the same as the book's ASIN.
Therefore the URL on Amazon for the paperback of Strunk, White, and Roger Angell's The Elements of Style, 4th Edition, whose ISBN is 020530902X, is:

How To Write an HTML Redirect Link

Over the last couple of weeks I received three separate requests for how to write an HTML redirect link.
So today I'm showing everyone how to do it.
You can write this page – it's actually a redirect page you're going to upload to your website – in raw HTML code. No don't worry, I'm going to keep it very simple. Even if you know absolutely no HTML at all, you'll be able to follow along.
So here's a sample of a redirect page:

In the code above, this link would redirect someone to this website:
http://www.nrc4.com
Examine the code and you'll find that website url is used 3 times in the redirect.
All you need to do is copy that code and replace http://www.nrc4.com with the address of the site you want the redirect to take you to.
Save file as YourRedirect.html somewhere on your computer where you can find it.
Then upload the file to your website. I either upload to the root directory so the redirect address would be
http://YourWebsite.com/YourRedirect.html
Sometimes I'll put it in a folder on the website called "Recommends". These are usually redirects of products I recommend and the address for that redirect would be:
http://www.YourWebsiteURL.com/Recommends/YourRedirect.html
If you need help uploading a file like this, take a look at my FTP (File Transfer Protocol) video showing you exactly how to do it.
FTP sounds complicated but ir' really easy. If you can move files and folders around on your computer with "Windows Explorer" or "My Computer" then you can FTP.

Altogether it took me less than 10 minutes to do the article in "Instant Article Wizard". And this is worst case. I purposely chose to do a new article for EzineArticles.com, which is the strictest Article Directory (and the best) out here today. They require articles to be at least 350 words.
Articles I write for 1Way Links only have to be about 250 words or so and that means I can crank out a bunch very quickly.
PLEASE NOTE: In the video below, I intend to use Jonathan's program The Best Spinner to generate a large number of different articles from the article I'm creating. That is why I do not show you the easy way to change words in the article that "Instant Article Wizard" has built into it.
You do not need to have "The Best Spinner" to create a unique article and thus avoid plagiarism and the dreaded duplicate content. Jonathan goes into this feature in his video you can see by clicking any of the "Instant Article Wizard" links on this page.

FTP stands for "File Transfer Protocol" which may sound complicated but relax, it's very easy to use.
If you can use "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer" then you can FTP.
